AAA TEXAS UNVEILS GIFT TO SUPER SEAT TICKET HOLDERS

ENNIS, Texas (Jun 28, 2012) – Would you like to have a NHRA Funny Car champion at your disposal at all times? One that nods “yes” to everything? Well, now’s your chance! Texas Motorplex management has unveiled the normally secret gift AAA Texas hands out to fans sitting in the Super Seat section during the annual celebration of speed at the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals: A limited edition Robert Hight bobble head.

Fans who purchase Super Seats weekend tickets for the Sept. 20-23 AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals will receive one bobble head PER TICKET HOLDER on Sunday.

And for a limited time…fans can double up on one-of-a-kind collectibles. The first 200 people to call the Motorplex office (or order online) weekend Super Seats passes will also receive a Texas Motorplex stadium replica – the first drag strip ever to have a collectible replica produced.

AAA Texas members pay NO handling fees and can save 25% on Super Seat ticket packages and $10 on individual daily tickets in the Northside and Southside grandstands at the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals by visiting texasmotorplex.com/aaa for information.

Tickets are now on sale for all seats and all price levels for the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals, Sept. 20-23, 2012. It is the second of six Countdown championship playoff events. Title hopes are on the line, champions are made and the action is hot as 8,000 horsepower Top Fuelers and Funny Cars thunder down the drag strip.

Fans can now select the exact seats they want to see and feel the blazing action of the quickest and fastest motorsport in the country at the fastest track in Texas. Winning at the Motorplex started with legends as Don “Big Daddy” Garlits (TF), Kenny Bernstein (FC), Bob Glidden (PS) ushered in the new era of Motorplex racing in 1986. That tradition continues as the new generation of champions will defend their 2011 titles when the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals come back for the annual visit. Vandergriff (TF), Cruz Pedregon (FC), Jason Line (PS), Michael Phillips (PSM) earned 2011 victories.

Gates open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, as sportsman qualifying runs between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Gates open at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, with sportsman qualifying starting at 8:30 a.m. and professional qualifying at 2 and 5 p.m.; Gates open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, with sportsman eliminations starting at 8 a.m. and final professional qualifying at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Gates open at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, with pre-race ceremonies at 10 a.m. and final professional eliminations at 11 a.m.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
