ENNIS MAYOR PRO TEM, LONG-TIME COMMUNITY SUPPORTER BOB TAYLOR TABBED AS GRAND MARSHAL FOR AAA TEXAS FALL NATIONALS
ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 18, 2012) – Ennis Mayor Pro Tem Bob Taylor will be the Grand Marshal during Sunday’s final eliminations of the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex.
Taylor, a longtime community servant, will start the second of six playoff events in the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the championship. Once Taylor gives the go-ahead, two nitro-methane-burning Top Fuel engines will start each of their 8,000-horsepower engines.
Taylor was born and raised in Longview, Texas and graduated from East Texas State University with both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education. Taylor dedicated his career to being a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal at various schools across Texas before settling in Ennis.
Taylor has been honored for his work in the classroom and in the community before and since his retirement in 1990. Taylor has been a member of the Ennis Noon Lions club for more than 35 years and continues to commit his time to Ennis and the surrounding communities.
