Autocross Presented by the North Texas Camaro Club and Statewide Remodeling

ENNIS, Texas (April 27, 2013) – Autocross challenges each participant with time, speed and ability as he or she maneuvers the vehicles through a timed course of turns, zig-zags and more. It has gained popularity with car clubs and racers over the years as each participant battles the clock and their competitive spirit.

Those competitive hearts can participate in Autocross at the 2013 Super Chevy Show at Texas Motorplex on Saturday, May 4. The 2013 Autocross, presented by the North Texas Camaro Club and Statewide Remodeling, will be run by the Equipe Rapide Sports Car Club.

“We are truly excited that North Texas Camaro Club and Statewide Remodeling stepped up to  help add this feature event to the Super Chevy Show this year,” Texas Motorplex General Manager Gabrielle Stevenson said. “The autocross will give our racers, car show and other participants another exciting challenge during the day. Super Chevy Show has something to offer all of our spectators and fans and autocross is just one more exciting attraction.”

The autocross course will be open to all Super Chevy Show participants – as well as driver’s wanting to only compete in Autocross – between 10 a.m. – 2p.m. on Saturday. Participants in other categories will not be charged for autocross. Anyone wanting to participate in autocross, but isn’t entered into other areas of the Super Chevy Show, can make unlimited passes for just $25.

There will be several categories for the autocrossers of all levels to enter including a ladies category, novice and pro. Winners will receive plaques for each category at the end of the day.

Autocross is just one of many exciting elements that make up each Super Chevy Show event, including car show, show-n-shine, swap meet, car corral, drag racing and more. Autocross courses are designed to challenge handling, performance and driving ability as each participant goes through the solo, timed course.

The third of 12 Super Chevy Show events slated for 2013 will be held at Texas Motorplex, May 4, 2013. The Super Chevy Show is a celebration of one of America’s most popular brands. The Motorplex will be filled with a car show, swap meet, car corral, kid’s activities area and of course, drag racing with the region’s top bracket racers as well as other family-fun entertainment.

The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
