300x250ENNIS, Texas (May 6, 2013) – Don Omar just claimed 10 Billboard honors at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in April. While he is dominating the music scene, he somehow still manages to find time for drag racing.

Omar will be battling racers before taking to the stage when the Don Omar DragMania Race and Music Festival comes to Texas Motorplex, May 25-26.

The weekend’s event will feature drag racing with grudge racing between imports and domestic models, a car show, live music and more. The weekend’s finale will be a live concert with Omar and Plan B, Zion & Lennox, RAKIM & KEN Y, LOBO and more.

Gates open for the DragMania Music Festival at 9 a.m. on  May 25; Racing starts at 1 p.m. with qualifying for Outlaw VS Extreme, Top Street and All Motor followed by bracket time trails. Gates open at 9 a.m. on Sunday with eliminations starting at 11 a.m. There will be extra entertainment throughout the day before eliminations finish at 5 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony and concert.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
