ENNIS, Texas (Jan. 31, 2014) – Texas Motorplex will officially kick off the racing season with a two-day bracket racing party Feb. 22-23 with the RacingJunk.com Motorplex Bracket Racing opener.
Electronics and No Electronics categories will be the featured categories for the Motorplex bracket racing season in 2014. Electronics’ winners this season, with a $60 entry, will receive a $1,000 payout. No Electronics’ winners will earn $800 with a $50 entry.
Other categories include: Quick Electronics entry is $75 with $600 to win (when 16 or more cars are entered); Quick No Electronics entry is $75 with $600 to win (when 16 or more cars are entered); Street E.T. for street legal racers will have a $25 entry with $150 going to the winner.
A Motorplex bracket racing season wouldn’t be complete without a Jr. Drag Racing series. There will be three categories including: Jr. Modified 7.90 E.T. – 10.49 E.T.; Jr. Sportsman 10.50 E.T. -20.00 E.T.; Jr. Quick Eliminator. All three categories will have a $20 entry fee.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
