The Great Bull Run is Half the Fun – 30,000 Pounds of Tomatoes Ready for Food Fight

ENNIS, Texas (March 31, 2014) – Shake off the jitters. It’s time. Put on your best whites and rally. You can’t possibly tell me that only Spain’s finest are brave enough to run with bulls.

This is Texas. And Texans WILL RUN WITH BULLS.

The Great Bull Run is coming to Texas Motorplex on April 5. It’s a one-day event featuring the excitement, thrill and challenge only previously showcased overseas.

Now it’s here, in Texas, ready for Texans to show what being big and brave is all about.

No need to bring your own red bandana. One will be provided for you. You just need to bring the willingness to run with 1,500-pound bulls on a perfectly good Saturday.

Are you brave enough? There’s still time to decide. If you haven’t registered at yet, you can register the morning of April 5.

So can the excuses and bleach that white shirt so you shine among the other runners. Bring your Go-Pro, your friends and your family – certainly they will want to see this.

An experience unlike any other, The Great Bull Run brings the Spanish tradition of the running of the bulls to the United States and finally, to Ennis, Texas.  Thousands of thrill-seekers and revelers will face the adrenaline rush of a lifetime as they’re pursued by 1,500-pound bulls stampeding down a quarter-mile course previously made famous by 8,000 horsepower Top Fuel and Funny Car engines and the racers that pilot them.

But what could be more exciting that the rumble and tumble of a Funny Car engine roaring past you, shaking every inch of your body? How about a bull running WITH you down the track?

There’s more to The Great Bull Run than just running with bulls. Just in case you want to blow off some steam and get into the area’s biggest food fight, you can join thousands of fellow fun-seekers in this massive day-long festival featuring bands, games, food, beer and, of course, Tomato Royale, our version of the insanely fun tomato food fight, La Tomatina. After all, surviving an epic run with 1,500-pound bulls is a pretty good reason to celebrate. But don’t worry if you’ve got a lower threshold for excitement; you can leave the running to the adrenaline junkies and opt to be a spectator, or join the Tomato Royale fun.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year
