Coming this Weekend, Fast Friday and Bracket Racing Series Continues with the Addition of Door Slammer Class.
Fast Friday is BACK at Texas Motorplex this weekend. Fast Friday is open to anyone with a street legal vehicle wanting to race down the famous Texas Motorplex quarter-mile like a pro, ONLY $15 to race and $10 to watch. Texas Motorplex is the ONLY quarter-mile track and best racing surface open to ANYONE in the entire DFW region.
So check the oil and make sure your hot rod is registered and ready to go. Fast Friday street legal racing is back at Texas Motorplex. The track is the best environment to race legally without the threat of a speeding ticket. Want to know what legendary NHRA Funny Car champion John Force sees when he pulls his 8,000 horsepower monster to the starting line? You can at every Fast Friday event.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the lanes will be open for racing from 7 p.m. until Midnight. Fast Friday events will be a great opportunity for year-round racers to test-and-tune their cars before big events. But ANYONE with a driver’s license and a legal vehicle can come out to see what it’s like to race down one of the most historic drag strips in the country.
Race for just $15, watch for only $10 (children 5 and under are free). Every ticket includes a pit pass. For ticket information call (972) 878-2641, (800) MOTORPLEX or visit our websitewww.texasmotorplex.com.
DOOR SLAMMER CLASS ADDED TO TEXAS MOTORPLEX BRACKET RACING SERIES FOR REMAINDER OF 2014
Weekly Payout, New Torque Converter and BTE Transmission are Top Prizes
Texas Motorplex will host a Door Slammer Class for the remainder of the 2014 Bracket Racing Series that will feature big payout and prizes for the winners.
Starting with the June 28 Motorplex Bracket race, the Door Slammer Class will have its own points series with the winner being crowned with a new transmission valued at more than $3,500 courtesy of Wendell Dunaway and BTE Transmissions. The runner-up of the series will receive a new torque converter, also thanks for BTE Transmissions, valued at more than $1,000.
The entry fee is $75 per event, with a $25 charge to sign up for points. This will be a 100 percent pay-back class, with all entry fees going back into the payout (with a minimum of eight cars to qualify the class).
“We are excited to work with BTE Transmissions and host a new category just for the door slammer competitors,” Texas Motorplex Competition Director Clint Wallace said. “I think this will be a great way to give the door slammers another category to compete in with a hefty prize for the series winner.”
The Motorplex bracket series continues June 28, followed by events on July 12, July 26, Aug. 2, and Aug. 9. Click here for more info!
Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
In advance of our Memorial Day Bracket Bash this weekend, Texas Motorplex will be open for a test-n-tune on Friday May, 23. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and we will run from 6 p.m.- 10 p.m. Pricing for the test-n-tune will be $15 to race and $10 to watch. Gates will remain open overnight Friday night to make sure racers coming in for the Memorial Day Bracket Bash will be able to get in and parked when they arrive.
