MUSTANG VERSUS CAMARO BY DAY, ULTIMATE STREET NIGHT WHEN THE SUN SETS AT TEXAS MOTORPLEX – ALL HAPPENING OCT. 5
WHAT: DRAG RACING is the quickest and fastest form of motorsport. While the kings of the sport, Top Fuel, exceed speeds of 320 mph with 8,000 horsepower, drag racing is inherently a sport that starts at the grass roots, street racing level. All that can be seen at Texas Motorplex!
The first ever Manufacturer’s Shootout will be held all day, Oct. 5, at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas. The Motorplex is an all-concrete quarter-mile drag racing facility that opened in 1986, becoming the first super-stadium built specifically for drag racing. The Motorplex has hosted national event racing since 1986 and has been the site of record-breaking passes, championship-clinching performances and jaw-dropping performances.
The Mustang vs. Camaro, Ultimate Street Party event will feature drag racing, auto cross and more. It will be a day of Ford vs. Chevy before the track is opened to all makes and models for the Ultimate Street Night featuring the Texas 275 cars and the Texas Triple Threat. Both the Texas 275 and the Texas Triple Threat feature a full range of full-bodied cars that blast down an eighth-mile in less than five seconds. Pro Mod Motorcycles will also be on site during this marathon of drag racing and autocross.
WHERE: Texas Motorplex, Ennis, Texas. Track is located on Hwy. 287, two miles west of Ennis, between Interstates 35 and 45.

SCHEDULE: MUSTANG VERSUS CAMARO: Gates open at 8 a.m. and qualifying begins at 9 a.m. Both brands will have qualifying opportunities in autocross and drag racing before being paired against each other. Awards and prizes will be given to the most successful brand.
ULTIMATE STREET NIGHT: Open time trails start at 6 p.m. for the Texas 275, and Texas Triple Threat clubs. At 7 p.m., Ultimate Street Night will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Anyone with a street legal vehicle and a driver’s license can race for just $15.
PRICING: MUSTANGE VERSUS CAMARO: Drag racing only is $35; Autocross only is $35; Doing both drag racing and autocross is $45; Spectator tickets are $10. ULTIMATE STREET NIGHT: $10 to watch, $15 to race.

NHRDA DIESEL WORLD FINALS ELIMINATIONS PUSHED TO SUNDAY BECAUSE OF RAIN AT THE MOTORPLEX
Spectators Keep Wrist Bands for Entry
ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 28, 2013) – The NHRDA World Finals will close it’s season on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Gates open at 9 a.m. for the season finale eliminations rounds at Texas Motorplex.
Saturday’s eliminations were halted because of persistent rain.
Spectators with wristbands from Friday and/or Saturday can bring the wristbands for reentry at no additional charge.
All spectators and racers can enter through Gates 10 and 12.
ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 26, 2013) – If any racing series knows their fans and knows how to put on a great show, it’s the NHRDA. They have taken their diesel drag racing series all over the United States and Canada and created legions of loyal fans who love the thundering roar of diesel engines as plumes of black smoke bulge through pipes of all types of diesels.
Texas Motorplex is proud to host the NHRDA World Finals this weekend, complete with country concert and sled pull.
Qualifying for the 2013 NHRDA World Finals at Texas Motorplex starts at 5 p.m. Friday.
Racing continues at 9 a.m. on Saturday in a day packed with events and activities for fans. Diesel racing will be on the track all day featuring Top Diesel, Pro Stock, Pro Street, Super Street, Super Diesel and Sportsman. Eliminations begin at 11 a.m.
The Show-n-Shine area, always a fan favorite, will start at 10 a.m. with plenty of room for fans to wander around the jaw-dropping aray of diesel entries.
The only place more crowded than the show-n-shine is the Diesel Dyno, open to the public. Fans can bring their vehicles and drive on to the dyno trailer and see just what kind of power they pack under the hood.
Once racing is over, Sonny Burgess will be performing a country music concert as the track staff readies the sled pull competition. Sled Pull featuring Super Stock, 3.0 Diesel and 2.6 Diesel starts at 5:30 p.m.
Spectators pay just $25 for a weekend pass good for Friday and Saturday racing, concert and sled pull. Kids 6-12 are just $10 for the weekend and children 5 and under are free. Call (972) 878-2641 for more information.
Qualifying for the 28th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex will resume on Saturday with amazing racing weather. Saturday is currently showing partly cloudy with a high in the low 80′s. After weeks of 100 degree weather these cool temperatures will allow the fans the perfect opportunity to watch some great racing. Track records and national records could fall when the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series qualifying gets under way. Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Qualifying rounds are set for 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Sunday’s final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. The race is the second of six in the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship.
