GARRY AND CAROL GILLAND TO HEAD TEXAS MOTORPLEX BRACKET AND PRO MOD SERIES’
Veteran Race Director to Bring Vast Experience to Key Motorplex Programs
ENNIS, Texas (Feb. 1, 2017) – Texas Motorplex has hired Garry and Carol Gilland to lead the Summit Bracket Racing Series and the O’Reilly Auto Parts TOPMA Outlaw Pro Mod Series, effective immediately.
Gilland brings more than 40 years of racing experience to the key Motorplex programs that start in March and go through November.
“It’s an honor to have Garry and Carol as part of the Texas Motorplex competition team,” Texas Motorplex President/General Manager, Gabrielle Stevenson, said. “The Summit Bracket Racing series and the O’Reilly Auto Parts TOPMA Outlaw Pro Mod series are very important to the Motorplex and we knew we had to get the best possible people to lead our team. Garry and Carol are an incredible pair and will make our programs even better.”
The Texas Motorplex season kicks off Feb. 18 with a chassis certification and test-n-tune followed by another test-n-tune Feb. 25.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
