TEXAS MOTORPLEX TO HONOR MILITARY AND FIRST RESPONDERS
DALLAS, Texas (September 14, 2018) – Every day, hundreds of brave men and women put their lives on the line to keep their fellow citizens safe and to pull them out of harm’s way. During the 33rd annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, October 4-7, the Texas Motorplex will be joining in honoring these unsung heroes with a variety of events and promotions.
The biggest benefit offered will be continuing to pay tribute to the legion of brave men and women with a discounted ticket. This ticket offer is for medical professionals, law-enforcement officers, firefighters, members of the armed forces, and a number of other professions charged with the safety and well-being of the public. As part of the tribute, first responders will be eligible for discounted tickets to the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals through GovX. Click here to purchase.
“The ticket discount is the least we can do for these heroes. Whether they are representing the police or fire departments in DFW and beyond or protecting our freedoms around the world in the armed services, these people deserve our appreciation. Together we will stand with our hand over our heart during our National Anthem and show how much we respect them and our flag,” said Texas Motorplex owner and president Billy Meyer.
In addition to the ticket discount, the Motorplex is honored to host some of America’s finest men in uniform on Sunday morning of race day. The Hooligans Pipes and Drums band, made up of active and retired firefighters and police officers from all over North Texas, will play the national anthem. CPL Jacob Schick, CEO for 22Kill.com and a third generation Marine, will serve as this year’s Grand Marshall.
“We are beyond honored to host these American heroes that epitomize service and true sacrifice,” said Texas Motorplex GM Andy Carter.
All Armed Service Members and First Responders will be recognized and invited to join in with NHRA drivers, Grand Marshall CPL Jacob Schick, and fans in the Sealmaster track walk on Sunday morning.
During the morning ceremonies, Texas Motorplex and NHRA will salute the Service Members and First Responders offering the thousands of fans in attendance the chance to show their appreciation.
Professional qualifying will begin on Friday, October 5 with two sessions and continue on Saturday, October 6. Final eliminations for the third race of the Countdown to the Championship will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 7.
