INTERSTATE-35 TO ENNIS FROM DALLAS

Exit #403, which will be Hwy 287, there is a green highway sign that says Texas Motorplex next exit, take the service road past the Ford dealership and over the bridge, take the next right, which is marked Hwy 287 South – Corsicana. We are on 287 South approximately 10 miles from Interstate-35.

INTERSTATE-35 TO ENNIS FROM WACO

Exit #403, Hwy 287 South toward Corsicana. We are on 287 South approximately 10 miles from Interstate-35.

INTERSTATE-45 TO ENNIS FROM DALLAS

Exit #251B, which will say Hwy 34, Kaufman/Italy Exit, turn right at the stop sign – go straight through downtown Ennis. We are 6 miles past Ennis on Hwy 287.

INTERSTATE-45 TO ENNIS FROM HOUSTON

Exit #247, which is the Hwy 287 bypass, there is a green highway sign that says ‘Texas Motorplex next exit’, follow this road all the way around Ennis, it will bring you right to us.

FROM DFW AIRPORT

Exit DFW Airport through the South toll booths, take the 360 South exit to the right, 360 south (Arlington) 22 miles to Hwy 287, turn left on Hwy 287, continue on Hwy 287 for 28 miles.

FROM INTERSTATE-30

Take interstate to either Interstate-35E (South) or Interstate-45 (South) and follow the above directions(from DFW airport).

FROM INTERSTATE-20 OR 635 MESQUITE AND GARLAND

Take interstate to either Interstate-35E (South) or Interstate-45 (South) and follow the above directions(from DFW airport).

APPROVED CARRY-IN ITEMS

Fans may enter Texas Motorplex with the following items:

  • Binoculars, scanners, headsets, personal cameras and seat cushions are allowed.
  • Seat cushion bags with compartments may be inspected on an individual basis.
  • Strollers will be permitted into the Pit Areas, Food Court and the Manufacturer Midway, but will not be allowed into the grandstand seating areas. Texas Motorplex will not assume any responsibility for strollers left unattended.
  • Flags are acceptable, provided they are not attached to poles and they do not obstruct other fans’ viewing of racing activities. No flag poles of any type will be allowed. Small nationality flags attached to a pencil sized diameter wooden stick will be allowed.
  • All bags, purses, backpacks and items brought through the Main Spectator gate will be subject to inspection.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items may not enter the admission gates:

  • Firearms, weapons of any kind, fireworks, and items restricted by Local, State or Federal laws.
  • Any outside food, drink or alcohol will not be allowed in the facility
  • Coolers, thermoses, freezer/ice packets and cups of any size.
  • Umbrellas, wagons, inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, scooters (motorized and/or manual), etc
  • Glass, aluminum and metal containers.
  • Pets (excluding properly identified ADA escorts).

None of the above restricted items may be left in or around the gate area. Please return items to your vehicle. Any items left at the gates will be discarded. Texas Motorplex reserves the right to refuse entry of any item deemed inappropriate.

CAMPGROUND RULES

  1. The following camping methods have been approved for the use in the campground: Motor coaches, motor homes, travel trailers, pick-ups with camper tops, pop-up trailers, tents, cars, trucks and buses.
  2. NO GLASS CONTAINERS are allowed in the campground.
  3. Open fires are not allowed. Please contain all cooking fires to grills, smokers or bar-b-cue pits. Open fires will not be tolerated at any time.
  4. No fireworks within city limits as stated by ENNIS CITY ORDINANCE #80-11-5 AND #86-6-5.
  5. No handguns permitted.
    a. “Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun.”
    b. “Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly.”
  6. Please do not dump your waste water on the ground. We have contracted a sanitation company to come through the park each evening to collect your waste water. They will be in the area each day.
  7. We have provided trash bags for your convenience. When they become full, place them along one of the roadways for collection. We will give you a fresh bag upon your request. You may pick them up at the registration tent at the entrance of the campground. Please dispose of your trash properly. Let’s keep the park clean for everyone.
  8. Please observe the NO PARKING areas designated by the flags and lines. These areas are not to be occupied by any type of vehicle not authorized by the Campground Coordinator. If you are unsure, please ask a staff member for assistance. These areas are for staff access, special events and equipment. Parking in these areas may cause you and your motor home to be removed from the facility.
  9. There is a water station on the northwest side of the park. There is no charge for water. Please use the station to fill your tanks, but do not hook up to them permanently. The water station is for fill up only.
  10. You are allowed one (1) additional support vehicle to stay with you during the event. The support vehicle can be a car or motorcycle but it cannot be a camping vehicle.
  11. ATV’s, UTV’s, 4 Wheelers, 3 Wheelers, Golf Carts or any other motorized vehicle, other than cars or trucks, ARE NOT ALLOWED to leave the campground through the main entrance or the spectator walk-through entrance. Motorcycles, bicycles or any other vehicles ARE NOT ALLOWED to be taken into the pit area.
  12. Please do not plug into the light tower generators. These are in place for security only.
  13. Bags of ICE will be sold at the entrance gate(40 lb. bag for $12.00).
  14. Please respect your neighbors and your area. HAVE FUN!!!!

  • Cash
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Camera
  • Sharpie Pen (for autograph opportunities)
  • Credit Cards - Texas Motorplex is a cashless facility

Don't worry! If you forget something, most of these items can be purchased at the Texas Motorplex Souvenir Store or the NHRA NitroMall.

Plan your travel route ahead of time and leave early enough so that you can make the most of your NHRA weekend.
